Audio — Setting up Devices

Option 1: Via the Sound Settings image.pngimage.png

  1. Create
an audio application configuration. Create a new audio application and assign it to the desired thin client.

  2. Detect
audio devices on the thin client. On the thin client, open the menu and navigate to System Sound.

    • The Hardware tab displays all detected audio devices and their profiles.
    • In the Input and Output tabs, view the available input and output devices.
  3. Apply
settings to the audio application Enter the names (or a unique part of them) into the audio application settings.

  4. Apply
configuration Restart the thin client to test the changed settings.

  5. Correct
errors, if error messages appear, adjust the entries in the audio application configuration accordingly and repeat step 4.

  6. Verify
the result, reopen the audio settings as in step 2 to ensure that the desired configuration is active.

Option 2: Via System Information

    • Create
       an audio application
Create a new audio application and assign it to the desired thin client.
    • Identify
audio devices on the thin client
On the thin client, open the menu and navigate to System System Information Audio
      The following are displayed there
      there: :-
      • detected sound cards
      -
    • available profiles
    - input and output devices (Inputs/Outputs)

The displayed input and output devices depend on the currently active audio profile.
After booting, a default profile is usually active.
Additional devices, such as HDMI outputs, appear in the overview after switching the profile, e.g., to HDMI. Therefore, specify the audio profile being used in the audio application.
Ensure the desired profile is active before reading the device names.

     Transfer
     devices to the audio application
Transfer the device names and audio profile from System Information to the audio application.

    Recommendation:

    • Use unique substrings instead of full names
       — this approach increases robustness against changes (e.g., kernel/driver updates).
    Apply
configuration Restart the ThinClient to apply the configuration.
    Troubleshooting

If devices require additional recognition or configuration, verify the active audio profile.

    • check the active audio profile
    • Check the device names / substrings
    • Adjust the audio application accordingly
    • Restart the system.
    Check the result

    Open again:

    again

System → System Information → Audio

    Check:

    • Verify the desired profile is active
    • Confirm that the correct input and output devices are in use.
