Virtual Appliance — Certificate Configuration

TranslationValid pending..as of openthinclient Appliance Version 2 603.1

Manage HTTPS certificates on the openthinclient appliance. View and delete automatically generated certificates, download the root certificate, and upload custom certificates.

Use this configuration when securing openthinclient management via HTTPS or operating it through a custom domain name with an internal or publicly trusted certificate.

Certain actions require logging in to the certificate configuration. If necessary, a login window's displayed.

Use the openthinclient appliance credentials.
The default login credentials (username - password) are: openthinclient - 0pen%TC.

Generated Certificates

By default, the openthinclient appliance automatically issues HTTPS certificates. It displays the issued certificates in the certificate configuration and, if necessary, deletes them.

Certificates are issued only for the IP addresses and hostname of the openthinclient appliance. If the openthinclient Management Server must be accessible via a different domain name, use a separate certificate.

Importing a Certificate into the Browser

The generated root certificate is self-signed, so browsers display a warning when accessing the openthinclient Management Server or the certificate configuration.

Download the root certificate and import it into the browser. After that, the browser displays the site without warning.

Upload certificate

Upload a custom certificate to use the organization's certificate infrastructure.

For this feature, obtain a certificate for the domain name or IP address under which the openthinclient Management Server will be accessible. Upload the certificate in the certificate configuration; it's used immediately.

To revert to the appliance-generated certificate, delete the uploaded certificate.

Settings

Certificate configuration accessible only on the appliance

If this setting is enabled, the certificate configuration is accessible only locally on the appliance. Otherwise, the certificate configuration can also be accessed from the network.

If this setting is enabled, connections to the openthinclient Management Server are secured via HTTPS. Connections on port 8080 are forwarded to port 443 .

If HTTPS is disabled, access the openthinclient Management Server via port 80 and port. 8080 .
