Browser

The Browser package includes Chromium. Use the package to configure browser settings.

Configuration

Below, review the configuration options for the Browser application.

General Settings

Custom icon	File name	Here, assign a custom icon to the application. Save the icon on the openthinclient server in the folder: `<Manager-Home>/nfs/root/custom/icons` Use a file format that's supported. `.png` or `.ico` . Use a size of 32 × 32 or 64 × 64 px.

Reset settings at startup	Yes No	The browser settings are reset to the values configured in the openthinclient Manager. Cookies, history, and user-defined settings are cleared.

Manual startup parameters	Text	Enter startup parameters for the browser here. Example: `--disable-notifications` — Enables only essential notifications from websites. Find a list of parameters here, among other places.
Reload Interval	Number	Reload the current page every `X` seconds. Leave the field blank to disable this feature.
Open file types automatically	List	List of file types that are automatically opened upon download. Example: `png, txt, ods, pdf`. Leave the field blank to disable this feature.

Window

Kiosk mode	Yes Disable	Kiosk mode corresponds to the browser's F11 function. In this mode, the browser runs frameless and stays open and maximized.

Automatic proxy detection:

Proxy settings are automatically detected via WPAD (Web Proxy Autodiscovery Protocol).

The WPAD implementation in Chromium supports DNS but not DHCP.

Manual configuration:

Under the Manual Settings menu item, enter your data in the Server and Port fields.

Proxy script:

Install browser certificates

To install additional certificates in the browser, place them in the following folder:

<Manager-Home>/nfs/root/custom/browser-ssl-certs

The browser imports the certificates at startup. Note, it treats all certificates as root CA certificates.
