HDX Webcam Forwarding (recommended):

If you select this setting, the webcam image is compressed locally and sent to the server via the designated virtual channel.

Generic USB Forwarding:

The webcam stream is forwarded uncompressed.

If the webcam outputs an H264 stream, network traffic stays efficient.

If you enable this setting, the system ignores all quality settings configured below.

USB Forwarding Settings

For Generic USB redirection to work, enable it on the server side. In Citrix Studio, the following policies are available for this purpose:

  • Client USB Device Redirection for Plug and Play Devices (default: Allowed)
  • Rules for Client USB Device Redirection
  • Rules for USB client device optimization

Explanation

Enable Generic USB Redirection

Yes

No

Select whether to forward all USB devices via Citrix's generic USB forwarding.

With the "All except memory sticks" option, it'll forward all devices except USB storage devices. This option is particularly useful in combination with client drive mapping.

The following devices are always handled locally:

  • Devices covered by a Virtual Channel driver
  • Input devices, such as keyboards or mice
  • Audio devices
  • Webcams

Connecting devices

Numeric

USB IDs of devices that should always be forwarded directly to the session. This approach streamlines access by automating device redirection through Citrix policy and eliminating the need for user interaction.

Note, enable Generic USB Redirection for this feature.

USB IDs must be in the form VID:PID or VID: Separate multiple entries with spaces. Specify only the vendor ID to include all devices from that manufacturer.

Read USB IDs on the client in a terminal using the command lsusb .

Exclude devices

Numerically

USB IDs of devices to include in generic forwarding.
