Update from 2018.1

localboot

TranslationIf pending.the thin clients have already been flashed to version 2018.1 using the localboot package, restart the NFS service after updating the packages and before restarting the thin clients. This step ensures the thin clients update correctly by refreshing the NFS cache. If the service isn't restarted, the thin clients might require reflashing.

When running localboot on versions older than 2018.1, perform a fresh installation and reflash the thin clients to ensure a successful update.

Citrix

USB Device Forwarding:

In Citrix, "Desktop Appliance Mode" has been enabled by default since version 2019.1. This means that Citrix forwards both USB devices plugged in after startup and those present at boot. This behavior can affect Philips or Grundig dictation devices. Generic USB redirection attempts to include a Philips dictation device that was already plugged in during boot into the session, and as a result, redirection via the intended virtual channel may not succeed.

Recommendation:
When using devices that forward through their own virtual channel, disable generic USB forwarding entirely, or filter devices in Citrix Studio by their USB ID. This primarily affects Philips and Grundig dictation devices.. To retain the old behavior, disable "Desktop Appliance Mode" in the Citrix application under Expert Settings.

Monitors

Display port names:

Due to a new driver, the port names may change after the update, e.g., HDMI-2 instead of HDMI2. To preserve the original port names, continue using the xorg-intel driver. Select the xorg-intel driver under "Use specific graphics driver" in the hardware type settings.
