Installation Options

This chapter provides an overview of the installation options for the openthinclient Management Server.

Installer

Using the installer, install the openthinclient Management Server as a service on Windows or Linux. It's possible to separate the program files and working data onto different partitions or devices.

Installer in a separate virtual machine

It's also possible to install the openthinclient Management Server in a self-hosted virtual machine. Use the network adapter in bridged mode.

Virtual Appliance

The Virtual Appliance is a preconfigured, Linux-based virtual machine that can be easily integrated into an existing network. It's suitable for easily testing new versions and can also function as a production server. As a virtual machine, it allows administrators to create snapshots and clones.
