Ensure the Microphone Routes to the Windows Session.

Symptom

  • Verify the Windows session detects an audio input device or microphone by opening Audio Settings.
  • An audio input device is present on the ThinClient desktop and is functioning. To verify, right-click the volume icon in the upper-right corner and open Sound settings.

Cause

Since FreeRDP version 2.7.0 (freerdp-git 2021.2.2), the audio system's auto-detection feature requires manual intervention.

Workaround

In the FreeRDP application, under Connection Parameters — Additional Parameters, add the following command-line parameter:

/microphone:sys:pulse
