OpenVPN Client

With the OpenVPN Client, thin clients can establish a VPN connection to an OpenVPN server.

Save the icon on the openthinclient server in the folder: <Manager-Home>/nfs/root/custom/icons

Use one of the following file formats: .png or .ico . Use a size of 32 × 32 or 64 × 64.

  1. Create the OpenVPN configuration file including all keys — inline configuration (see OpenVPN documentation)
  2. Save the configuration file on the server via the Custom folder
  3. Enter the path and filename correctly in the OpenVPN application.

Example:

Save the .ovpn file on the server
  • Open the openthinclient Server Manager
  • Open the File Manager there
  • Navigate to <Manager-Home>/nfs/root/custom 
  • Upload the file, e.g., configuration.ovpn

Settings in the OpenVPN application

  • In the Manager, navigate to the OpenVPN application
  • Enter the path and filename in the Configuration File field /tcos/link/custom/configuration.ovpn
Name server List of IP addresses

Comma-separated list of IP addresses that the ThinClient should use for name resolution.

Example: 10.0.0.1,10.0.2.1

Search domains List of domains Comma-separated list of domains in which hostnames should be searched.
