VNC Viewer

The VNC Viewer application allows access to other VNC servers from the thin client.

Save the icon on the openthinclient server in the folder: <Manager-Home>/nfs/root/custom/icons

The file format is .png or .ico . Use a size of 32 × 32 or 64 × 64.

After closing the application,

Leave settings unchanged.

Restart the application.

Log out the user

Restart the thin client

Shut down the thin client

Shut down ThinClient with a cancel dialog

Configure behavior after closing the application.

Password

VNC server password

If a password file is specified, the system ignores the password field.

If both password and password file are omitted, the system opens a dialog to enter the password when the VNC server requests one.

Password file

Specify the file name or full path.

Password file for the VNC Viewer.

Use this file to store the password in a less readable form.

Create a password file by using the

tigervncpasswd
(see Create password file )

 

Store the password file in the Cusom folder within the directory<Manager-Home>/nfs/root/custom/vnc-viewer-passwdAlternatively, specify a full path on the ThinClient.

Indicate to the VNC server whether split connections should be allowed.

This option is available on compatible VNC servers.

Additional command-line parameters for the VNC Viewer. These can override the values specified above.

Create password file
  1. Open a terminal on the thin client: CTRL+ALT+T or ALT+F2+mate-terminal
  2. Create a new VNC password file using the command 

    tigervncpasswd
  3. The password file is created under .vnc/passwd .
  4. Open a web browser with ALT+F2 and enter chromium.
  5. Open the openthinclient management.
  6. Open the file manager and navigate to the Custom folder.
  7. Load the passwd file to the vnc-viewer-passwd directory.
  8. In the VNC Viewer configuration, enter the filename under "Password File."
