Set up RemoteApps

RDP Server Settings

To use RemoteApps, they're first set up on the Windows server. 

Set up the server role.
  • Open Server Manager
  • In the Manage menu, select Add Roles and Features.
  • Select the following options:

    • Installation type: Install Remote Desktop Services

    • Deployment type: Quick Start

    • Deployment scenario: Session-based desktop deployment

    • Server selection: Move servers to the list of selected servers on the right.
  • Confirm and start installation
Publish RemoteApps.
  • In Server Manager, open Remote Desktop Services in the left sidebar
  • Open Collections
  • Select a collection or create a new collection under Tasks
  • In the REMOTEAPP PROGRAMS tile, under Tasks, select Publish RemoteApp Programs
  • Set up RemoteApp; it'll be used in the next step in openthinclient Management.

  • Create and set up an application of the type FreeRDP Remote App
  • In App Alias, specify the selected alias for the RemoteApp.
