Windows Defender Firewall — Setup

The openthinclient Management Server can also be installed on Windows. Use the provided .exe installer for this purpose. For PXE booting of the thin clients, grant the openthinclient Management Server full access to the network.

Instructions

  1. Open Windows Defender Firewall
  2. Create a new Inbound Rule for a program
  3. Apply this rule to a specific program — Enter the path to the openthinclient Manager application, e.g.: C:\Program Files\openthinclient\bin\openthinclient-manager.exe
  4. Select the action to perform > Allow connection
  5. Define when the rule should be applied:
    • Domain
    • Private
    • Public
  6. Enter a name and, if necessary, a description
  7. Create a new Outbound Rule for a program and repeat steps 3 - 6.
